Yuikiri Terms of Use

The Japanese version of these Terms is the governing version. This English version is provided as a translation for reference. If there is any inconsistency, the Japanese version prevails.

Article 1 (Purpose and Scope)

  1. These Terms set out the conditions for using the online service “Yuikiri.”
  2. The business that provides the Service is referred to below as the “Operator.”
  3. These Terms apply to the Service’s landing page, purchase page, ritual page, purchase confirmation email, and other related pages and notices provided by the Operator.

Article 2 (Definitions)

In these Terms, the following expressions have the meanings set out below.

  1. “Service” means the six-stage online ritual experience provided as Yuikiri.
  2. “User” means a person who purchases or uses the Service after agreeing to these Terms.
  3. “Full Ritual” means a one-time purchase that provides one ritual for each payment.
  4. “Entrance URL” means a URL issued for each order that contains a difficult-to-guess access token.
  5. “Ritual Text” means text entered by a User during the writing and declaration stages of the ritual.

Article 3 (Content and Nature of the Service)

  1. The Service is a one-time-purchase experience intended to help a User bring a sense of closure to their feelings by proceeding through a six-stage online ritual.
  2. The Service is not provided for the purpose of harming any particular person.

Article 4 (Eligibility)

  1. The Service is available only to persons who are 18 years of age or older.
  2. A working email address capable of receiving messages is required to purchase the Service.

Article 5 (Application, Agreement, and Formation of Contract)

  1. By reviewing the links to these Terms and the Privacy Policy shown on the purchase page and continuing to Stripe Checkout, the User agrees to both documents and applies to use the Service.
  2. The contract for use of the Service is formed when payment is successfully completed through Stripe Checkout.

Article 6 (Price and Payment)

  1. The price of the Full Ritual is JPY 1,480, including consumption tax.
  2. The Service is charged as a single payment and is not a recurring charge or subscription.
  3. Payments are processed through Stripe Checkout.
  4. Each payment provides access to one ritual.

Article 7 (Provision of the Service)

  1. After confirming payment, the Operator will display an Entrance URL issued for the order and send it to the email address used for the purchase.
  2. The User must not share the Entrance URL with any third party and is responsible for keeping it secure.
  3. The Entrance URL has no individual expiration date while the Service remains available. The User may revisit it to resume an unfinished ritual or view the completion page.
  4. One ritual is provided for each order. After a ritual has been completed, a new ritual cannot be started from the same Entrance URL.
  5. If a system failure or similar issue prevents the Entrance URL from being issued or sent, the Operator will confirm the payment status and reissue or resend the Entrance URL. If the Service ultimately cannot be provided, the Operator will refund the price of that order.

Article 8 (Handling of Entered Information)

  1. Ritual Text is not sent to or permanently stored on the Operator’s servers and is not recorded in logs, email, or error trackers.
  2. The current ritual stage, the fire or water selection, the completion time, and the update time are stored.
  3. The User must not enter the real name, address, contact details, photograph, or other personal information of any real person in Ritual Text or any other input field.
  4. Further details about the handling of User information are set out in the Operator’s Privacy Policy.

Article 9 (Prohibited Conduct)

The User must not engage in any of the following conduct when using the Service.

  1. Using the Service for the purpose of harming a particular person
  2. Entering the real name, address, contact details, photograph, or other personal information of a real person
  3. Using the Service while under 18 years of age
  4. Sharing, transferring, or selling an Entrance URL to a third party
  5. Unauthorized access, interference with the system, analysis of the system, or exploitation of a vulnerability
  6. Conduct that violates laws or regulations, public order and morals, or the rights of a third party

Article 10 (Cancellation, Reprovision, and Refunds)

  1. After payment has been completed, refunds are not provided for cancellation for the User’s convenience, an accidental purchase, discontinuing a ritual before completion, or dissatisfaction with the outcome, except where otherwise required by law.
  2. If a duplicate payment is confirmed, the Operator will refund the duplicate amount.
  3. If an Entrance URL cannot be issued or sent, the Operator will reissue, resend, or refund it in accordance with Article 7.5.
  4. If the Service ultimately cannot be provided for reasons attributable to the Operator, the Operator will refund the price of that order.
  5. If Stripe or another external service experiences a temporary outage, the Operator will provide the Service again after recovery.
  6. Refunds will be processed by the Operator through Stripe.

Article 11 (Changes, Suspension, and Termination)

  1. The Operator may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service due to maintenance, system failure, communications failure, disaster, or an outage affecting Stripe, Cloudflare, Resend, or another external service. Where advance notice is possible, notice will be posted on the official website.
  2. If the Operator changes the content, price, or method of providing the Service or changes these Terms, the Operator will, in principle, post the changes and their effective date on the official website at least one week before that date. The changes will apply from the stated effective date.
  3. If the Operator terminates the Service, notice will be posted on the official website at least one week before the termination date, and no new purchases will be accepted during that notice period.
  4. All Entrance URLs will become unavailable when the Service terminates. Users must complete their ritual before the termination date. No refund will be provided solely because a ritual remains unfinished when the Service terminates.

Article 12 (No Guarantee of Outcomes)

  1. The Operator does not guarantee that use of the Service will change, end, or improve any particular relationship.
  2. The Operator does not guarantee any outcome concerning the feelings, intentions, conduct, or other circumstances of a particular person or any other third party.
  3. The Operator does not guarantee that a User’s state of mind, concerns, living circumstances, or similar matters will improve or be resolved.
  4. References to rituals, prayers, or similar expressions within the Service are not intended to guarantee any specific or objectively verifiable outcome.
  5. The preceding paragraphs do not relieve the Operator of its obligation to provide the Service as agreed under the contract.

Article 13 (Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability)

  1. The Operator is not liable for damage caused by a User’s device, browser, or internet connection, or by an external service outage or other circumstance that is not attributable to the Operator.
  2. Where the Operator is liable to a User for damage relating to the Service, the total amount of compensation will, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to the amount paid by that User to the Operator for the relevant order.
  3. The limitation in the preceding paragraph does not apply where damage is caused by the Operator’s intentional conduct or gross negligence.
  4. This Article does not restrict any User right that cannot be restricted under the Consumer Contract Act or any other mandatory law.

Article 14 (Personal Information)

Personal information and other User information are handled in accordance with the Operator’s Privacy Policy. Contact details are stated in the Disclosure under the Act on Specified Commercial Transactions in Japanese.

Article 15 (Transfer of Rights and Severability)

  1. A User may not transfer, pledge, or otherwise dispose of their contractual position or any rights or obligations under these Terms to a third party without the Operator’s prior consent.
  2. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Article 16 (Governing Law and Agreed Jurisdiction)

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Nagoya District Court or the Nagoya Summary Court will have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over any dispute arising in connection with these Terms.
